Ariana Grande hits her first No 1

Ariana Grande’s recent hit single – Thank U, Next – has scored her her first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The single debuted at the top of the charts in its first week, dethroning Maroon 5’s Girls Like You featuring Cardi B, after seven weeks at the top of the chart.

Thank U, Next earned over 55.5 million streams and 81,000 downloads in the US alone. It’s the first song by a female artist to debut at No. 1 since Adele’s Hello in 2015.

Thank U, Next is the first single off Ariana’s upcoming fifth studio album. Her recent album, Sweetener was released in August.
