Father hacks son to death over some unspecified disagreement

A middle-aged man, Onyenwe Offor Ajah, of Ameke Enu Oduma Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, has allegedly hacked his son, Kenneth Ajah, to death.

A report from Daily Independent gathered that the deceased was 38 years old as at the time of his death.

According to the report, trouble started at about 4.30 pm on 28 March when the man had a disagreement with his son at Orie Oduma Market, Aninri LGA.

The misunderstanding was said to have caused a fight between the man and his son and in the process, the man picked up a sharp object and struck his son on the head.

His son was said to have slumped on the ground and lost consciousness. The man escaped while his son was later confirmed dead.

Ebere Amaraizu, the spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, confirmed the incident.

Amaraizu, a Superintendent of Police, said the deceased’s body had been deposited at Awgu District General Hospital Mortuary while a manhunt for the fleeing suspect (his father) has been intensified.
