Marcelo slammed with 753,000 euro fine and jail sentence over tax fraud

Real Madrid fullback Marcelo has joined the long list of footballers to have issues with Spanish authorities over tax fraud.

The 30-year-old reportedly agreed to pay the fine along with a four-month suspended jail sentence.

Tribuna reports that the fine amounts to the “40% (196,367.08 euros) of the initial sum that Marcelo should have paid to the state in addition to the 490,917.7 euro fine for fraud.”

The most recent cases between Spanish Tax authorities and football personalities reaching such agreements include the cases of James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Jose Mourinho.
