South Africa FA Agrees To Replay Match Against Senegal

The SAFA (South African Football Association) have decided that they agree with the decision reached by the football governing body to have their World Cup qualifier against Senegal replayed for match misconducts on the part of the referee, Lamptey.

Lamptey who is from Ghana had been found guilty early last month of being biased while carrying out his duties during the match that held last year and FIFA gave him a life ban from officiating matches.

Though the spokesperson for the SAFA mentioned that there are ‘legal ways’ to take the decision by FIFA to court, they were taking the way of ‘moral and ethics’ and have concluded that they will participate in the game when it is rescheduled.

Lamptey however have reportedly taken the ban to court in other to appeal it. The bone of contention was a ‘nonexistent handball’ that he awarded to South Africa in the closing stages of the match.
