Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has debunked rumours making the rounds on social media that her husband, Olu Jacobs, has died.
Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs (Olu Jacobs for short), internationally acclaimed Nigerian actor and film executive, was born on 11 July 1942. He has starred in several British television series and international films.
Speaking with The NEWS, Joke said that her family found the rumours so depressing that members had to speak out.
Some websites propagated the news that the Veteran actor was dead and his wife decided to come out to dispel the false news stating, “my husband is alive“
She also revealed that their family has been bombarded with calls by well-wishers who wanted to find out the truth.
She also added that the birthday of Olu Jacobs (who laughed off the rumour) is next month.
Similarly, Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju, also debunked the rumours that the veteran actor is dead.
Akindoju, who is quite close to Jacobs and his wife, said in a Twitter post that she spoke with him and he is “alive and well.”

Olu Jacobs has been off the acting scene for a while due to age.
Olu Jacobs was the latest actor whose death has been falsely spread by some unscrupulous persons. Just last week, Hanks Anuku, another Nollywood actor debunked rumours of his death with a video he uploaded on Instagram. Before him, Chiwetalu Agu also debunked false rumours that the actor lost his life.
Who started the rumour and why did they start it?
If you ask me, na whom I go ask?
