Lagos state taskforce on Wednesday, January 13, sealed the popular Eko club event center in Surulere for violation of COVID-19 protocols.
According to the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, Gawat Jubril, the center was sealed for holding a packed funeral.
Pictures shared online showed that the funeral was held in disregard of COVID19 protocols such as social distancing.

On 18 December 2020, the Lagos State Government had issued a new set of directives to combat the rise of coronavirus in the state. Among these new guidelines are;
— Immediate shut down of all schools
— Cancellation of concerts, carnivals and street parties
— Immediate shut down of all night clubs in the State
— Midnight to 4 AM curfew
— All public places to enforce the ‘No Mask No Entry’ policy
