A former forward of the Super Eagles football team of Nigeria, Osaze Odemwingie, has taken up coaching courses in golf to help grow Nigeria in the sport.
The footballer who had 18 years of professional football is now undergoing coaching training in golf. Although he intends to get coach badges, his first love still remains football. However, the ex-international star says he wants to focus on golf for now.
Odemwingie who retired from professional football almost a year ago in April 2019, had a successful career. He played for the likes of Stock City football club, West Brom, Lilie, among others.
“I have plans to preach the gospel of golf to the countries I come from,” the former international forward who now resides in Stoke said.
After Osaze hung his boots, he took up golf seriously and has joined the training program to become a member.

The former footballer who is seriously gunning for a badge in coaching the golf sport has completed his level one training and is going for level two which will make him a certified golf coach.
He said in an interview: “I will still do the football coaching badges because I have a lot of knowledge in that sport. I have played in a lot of countries, I speak a lot of languages, there are still a lot of opportunities to coach but golf has taken over.”
Osaze continued: “I just love the game so much that I put the football on hold.”
