The Athletic’s Shams Charania announced the news on his Twitter page. He confirmed that the Hall of Fame chairman, Jerry Colangelo has revealed that Kobe Bryant will be inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.
He wrote: “Kobe Bryant will be a first-ballot enshrinement into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2020.
“Expected to be arguably the most epic class ever with Kobe, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett,” HOF chairman Jerry Colangelo says. “Kobe will be honored the way he should be.”
“Bryant will be part of standard Hall of Fame screening process on Wednesday, with finalists in February at All-Star break and formal inductees at the Final 4 in April.”

This is coming days after the Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas.
During his time as a basketball player, Kobe Bryant won five NBA championships, had 18 All-Star appearances, and 15 selections to an All-NBA team. He currently ranks fourth all-time in points and owns every Lakers’ scoring record.
