The party stunt a couple adopted to reveal their unborn child’s gender became calamitous as two pilots lost their lives after their plane nosedived into the sea as the unveiling was taking place.
This devastating incident happened over the Caribbean Sea in the Nichupte Lagoon off the Cancun coast on Wednesday.
They rented the plane from a company called Xomex, according to reports, and it had been trailing a banner revealing the child’s gender before, unfortunately, crashing into the sea during the ceremony.
The expecting couple and their family and friends were left horrified as scenes of celebration quickly turned sour as the tragedy unfolded before their very eyes.
Moments before tragedy ensued, the pilots performed stunts with the small aircraft above the couple and their family ahead of the gender announcement.

Guests could even be heard excitedly exclaiming, “it’s a girl!” from the video above as the light aircraft flew across the ocean with a sign trailing behind it revealing the unborn’s sex.
Someone in the crowd even said jokingly that: “It’s all good as long as it doesn’t end up crashing into us”.
Not long after that, the partygoers noticed the plane taking a nosedive into the water, ultimately changing a joyous mood for the worse as they all witnessed the horrific accident from a boat.
According to the Mexican news outlet Debate, the navy came to the aid of the victims. However, the pilot and the co-pilot didn’t make it. One died during the rescue, while the other was declared dead while receiving first aid on land.
Reports also suggest that an investigation into what caused the crash has begun. This tragic news comes after a string of gender reveals gone wrong across the globe.
