Ace Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has dropped the anticipated music video of his song “23” and it pays homage to basketball legend Michael Jordan while also featuring his Grammy acceptance speech and much more.

“23” is off the Grammy-award winning project “Twice As Tall” and the singer announced the video release on 23 March 2021.

Clarence Peters shot the video while Skread produced it and right from the go, basketball fans can notice the reference to Michael Jordan starting from the way the video’s title is stylised like the iconic number 23 that Jordan wore.

Also, spread throughout the video are #23 jerseys as well as medals. The 23 video ends with a clip of Burna Boy speech accepting his Grammy award on 14 March 2021.

However, these are not the only things that the video contains as it also serves inspirational scenes along with aesthetic pleasing visuals as well.

Several characters from the video include a wheelchair-bound basketball player, music producer, dancer, songwriter, young basketball fan, and a practising basketball player. All the characters bar one are female, likely in honour of Women’s History Month as Rolling Stone claims.

The singer seems to have hit the mark with this video again as some of the early reactions to it have sown:
