Recall that Sidomex Entertainment reported a few weeks ago that Seyitan, through her friend, accused D’banj of raping her at a hotel in 2018.
D’banj did not respond to the allegations until after his 40th birthday celebrations when he shared a legal statement demanding 100 million Naira from Seyitan as well as an apology in four national newspapers within 48 hours.
However, a few hours after he shared the statement on his Instagram page, he took it down and rumours began to surface on social media that the singer was using his power to intimidate Seyitan.
The reports claimed that he had arrested her and locked her up in a police station without access to her lawyers or her family. It was also alleged that Seyitan had been pressured into sharing pre-approved content on social media.
Well, Seyitan took to social media in the early hours of Wednesday, 24 June to issue a lengthy press statement, dismissing some of the rumours and confirming others.

Nigerians have now taken to social media to react, calling for stiff punishment for D’banj and a victory for Seyitan in the court of law.
See the reactions below:
Really rooting for Seyitan. Not only will a win bring her the much needed justice, it will weaken the power of intimidation over victims.

After seeing how Nigerian women pulled up gun blazing for Seyitan, i never want to hear anyone open their mouths to say women are women’s worst enemies ever gain.
These women literally used a satellite to track her whereabouts to free her after D’banj kidnapped her.
