Queen Elizabeth reportedly retiring in 18 months for Charles to become king

Queen Elizabeth will turn 95 in a few months, and will reportedly bring an end to her era as Queen.

Prince Charles is reportedly already preparing to ascend the throne as the Queen plans to step down from her throne within 18 months.

Per the royal succession rules, the queen cannot retire without abdication, but she can step down from her duties if she feels her health is a concern.

Another factor fueling this speculation is the fact that Prince Philip retired from his royal duties when he turned 95, leading many to believe that she will follow in his footsteps.

“Her Majesty is mindful of her age and wants to make sure when the time comes, the transition of the Crown is seamless.

“I understand the Queen has given the matter considerable thought and believes that, if she is still alive at 95, she will seriously consider passing the reign to Charles,” a former senior member of the royal household reportedly told royal correspondent Robert Jobson.

Following Prince Andrew’s disastrous BBC interview where he further established his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Charles acted swiftly, reportedly inspiring confidence in royal staff and earning himself a new nickname indicating the change.

Charles cannot truly become king until the Queen dies of course, but British tabloids are speculating on the likeliness of his becoming prince regent.

A royal source told the Sun, “The scandal surrounding Andrew and Epstein gave Charles an opportunity to step in to show that he can run The Firm. No one is bigger than the institution of the Royal Family.

“Not even Andrew, the Queen’s favourite son. Charles recognized that and acted decisively — like the king he may well soon be. This was the moment when Charles stepped up as Prince Regent, the Shadow King.”
