WATCH Snoop Dogg's tribute to Kobe Bryant at 2020 ESPY award [video]

Five months after Kobe Bryant died tragically in a helicopter crash, Snoop Dogg is paying tribute to him. 

During the 2020 ESPY Awards, which was held remotely, Kobe Bryant was honoured with a rap rendition by Snoop Dogg with videos of the athlete as well as footage of murals that have been made in tribute to Kobe Bryant, playing in the background.

“A friend and leader, understandably. And you did it candidly,” Snoop Dogg rapped about Kobe, adding, “Your reign in the city remains … greatness in your name.”

Kobe and his daughter Gianna died in January 2020 following a fatal helicopter crash in California. Other victims include Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, Alyssa Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, John Altobelli, Christina Mauser, and the pilot Ara Zobayan.

Since then, his family including his wife, Vanessa Bryant, Natalia, Capri and Bianka have been celebrating his life in the little ways including a father’s day post on Father’s Day.
