This news was first shared by Instablog9ja who reported on their social media accounts that the singer’s deal with Heritage bank, which he signed only a few days ago on his fortieth birthday, has been cancelled.
They wrote: “Unconfirmed reports reaching us suggest that Heritage Bank has suspended their ambassadorship at deal with D’Banj over the alleged rape case. Details soon.”
This is coming after D’banj trended on Twitter for his alleged maltreatment of his rape accuser, Seyitan. Twitter feminists and well-meaning Nigerians shared information that the singer arrested her and her mother and prevented them from seeing their lawyers.
Shortly after these allegations were shared, tweets promoting D’banj’s music were shared on Seyitan’s Twitter account. Read the full details here.
Nigerians have now taken to social media to react to the unconfirmed rumours with many saying that D’banj should not be judged without actually going to court.
See some reactions below.
At the end of the day, if Dbanj happens to be innocent, I hope you'll be able to forgive yourself for crucifying him too fast just coz you were too dumb to think and use your head but preferred to listen "they said they said" and act on emotions #DbanjSuspended
