Kim Kardashian signs criminal justice reform podcast deal with Spotify

Kim Kardashian-West has signed a new deal with Spotify that will see her make podcasts on her criminal justice reform project. 

The work she will do for Spotify is similar to what she has done for The Innocence Project, a non-profit that aims to exonerate individuals who were wrongfully convicted.

A Spotify representative has confirmed the deal to CNN and Television producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi will co-host and co-produce.

This deal with Kim Kardashian follows other similar deals that mark Spotify’s attempt to dominate the podcast industry. In May, Spotify signed an exclusive deal with one of the world’s most popular podcasts, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.

Apple has typically been the leader in the podcast industry but Spotify is now making movies to take over that industry and make a name for themselves, and it looks like their efforts are yielding results.

Spotify said its podcast business is growing. About 19% of Spotify’s monthly active users listen to podcasts which is a 3% increase from the last quarter.
