So many people consider it less important to have a travel itinerary for their journey. People love to travel for one reason or the other. It can be for vacation, a business meeting, for shopping, to attend a function, to meet an old friend, to meet a client, or simply for the sake of tourism etc. Now, whatever the reason you wish to travel for, it is best to know what you will do when on that journey. What is a travel itinerary? This is just a detailed list of places you wish to visit or things you need to do during your travel and how to achieve them. According to Wikipedia, a travel itinerary is a schedule of events relating to planned travel, generally including destinations to be visited at specified times and means of transportation to move between those destinations.
Why is it important? A travel itinerary is of a paramount importance because:
1. It will help you have a fruitful moment in your journey. As earlier stated, you don’t want to return home just to find out that you did’t do everything you wanted to do.
2. It will help you place priority on the most important activities or places. With an itinerary, you can do what is necessary at that particular time, be at the right place at the right time, and of course be productive.
3. It will help you estimate the cost of your travel before you set out for it. When you have a list of all you wish to do and a list of all the places you wish to visit during the course of your trip, you will be able to know how much you are going to spend and thus, create a budget for it.
4. You will be opportune to bring along some essentials that you will be needing for a particular activity or movement. For instance, if your travel itinerary has “going to the beach,” as part of your activities, it will require you to bring along beach wears or buy them if you don’t have any.
5. It will help you manage your time well. You don’t want to make a move at the wrong time. With a travel itinerary, you are able to know when is the best time to head out and not come in contact with issues like traffic, bad roads, weather, etc.
