Nigeria has recorded an additional 587 coronaviruscoronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightl update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on the 17th of June.
According to the centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 17,735. The centre also stated that 5,967 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from isolations centres across the country. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 469 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigerians as of the night of Wednesday 17th June 2020 was 11,299.
