Samuel Chukwueze scored his first La Liga goal of the season to end his goal drought after scoring the first goal in Villarreal’s 2-0 home win against Real Valladolid on Monday night.
The Nigerian forward last scored in Spain’s top flight in November 2019 as Villareal beat Celta Vigo 3-1 at home.
Chukwueze opened the scoring for Villarreal as early as in the 21st minute before Pau Torres added the second goal on 37 minutes.
The Super Eagles winger was substituted in the 64th minute of the match and was replaced by Takefusa Kubo who is on loan from Real Madrid.
The win takes Villarreal up to third the third position on the La Liga table as they have now gathered 15 points in 8 games.
The Yellow Submarines have now gone undefeated in their last seven games in all competitions.
