Aston Villa captain, Jack Grealish, who has been in exceptional form off the back of an impressive Premier League campaign last season, has seen Manchester United rekindle intereet in him.
The Sun reports that Manchester United could welcome interests in the Villa playmaker Jack Grealish. The 25-year-old midfielder whose performance has gotten him an England callup has started to break through to the international side.
Despite Grealish signing a new £110,000-a-week deal with his current club, if Paul Pogba or Juan Mata leave Old Trafford, he could be their replacement.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was very anxious to land the England international over the summer and United even held talks with Aston Villa over a potential £75 million deal for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder.
Aston Villa held out for more and United whose top target all summer was always Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, could not get the transfer over the line.
Afterwards, Jack Grealish pledged his future to Aston Villa by penning a new long-term contract worth £110,000-a-week in September.
The England attacking midfielder has four goals and five assists in just seven Premier League games this term and has bonded quickly with new Villa arrivals, Ollie Watkins and Ross Barkley.
He’s also helped Villa up to sixth in the table and played a key role in taking down Arsenal recently at the Emirates stadium and champions, Liverpool, a few weeks ago. Both teams were thrashed 3-0 and 7-2 respectively.
With Villa’s last summer’s £75m valuation of the player most certain to rise significantly, it’s left to be seen whether United or any elite European side will come get their man.
